Ray Lowrey

Senior Vice President
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Ray Lowrey is senior vice president and chief technology officer for Gale. In this role, he is responsible for the company's overall technology strategy and direction; systems development and implementation; and technical infrastructure. He is a key player in the effort to transform Gale into an e-solutions provider. Mr. Lowrey also serves as a member of Cengage Learning's Chief Technology Officer Council.

Mr. Lowrey joined Gale in 2003 from Cengage Learning Technology Services where he was vice president, Strategic Product Technology. In this position, he orchestrated the definition of Cengage Learning's Enterprise Product Development and Delivery Architecture and established the Architecture Council to drive the overall design and implementation. In a prior role of vice president, Information Systems, Mr. Lowrey led the effort to establish Cengage Learning's highly successful technology shared services center and served in key roles for many high-impact projects, including the successful integration of the Harcourt business systems.

Prior to joining Cengage, Mr. Lowrey held senior-level positions in technology management and software development for EG&G and Monsanto. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Dayton.
