Overview
The Encyclopedia of Governmental Advisory Organizations (EGAO) is a comprehensive guide to permanent, continuing, and ad hoc advisory committees reporting to the President of the United States, Congress, and U.S. government departments and agencies. EGAO describes the activities and personnel of organizations both current and historical that function to advise the federal government. Committees include presidential, ad hoc, White House and coordinating, public advisory, interagency and intra-agency, consultative, and conferences. EGOA has five indexes: Alphabetical and Keyword; Personnel listing the chairperson and staff contact for all committees, as well as any members of national prominence; Organizations by Presidential Administration listing committees established by each president chronologically; Organizations by Federal Department or Agency listing all active committees associated with each federal department or agency; and Publications and Reports Index listing all titled publications of current and historical committees.
