Xin Guangwei is an internationally renowned scholar of publishing. He began his career as an editor and was also involved in copyright exchange; in 1994, he joined the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) of the People's Republic of China. He is currently the acting chief editor of the People's Publishing House.\nXin has authored several monographs about publishing, including Copyright Exchange and Chinese Publishing and The Publishing History of Taiwan. He is the executive editor-in-chief of China Book Almanac as well as the editor-in-chief for the Annual Observations of Worldwide Chinese Publications. He has also initiated and edited quite a few influential books such as The Complete Works of Zhang Dai-nian, which received the China National Book Award, and A Practical Guide to Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China, the first comprehensive book of its kind in China. Xin has been invited as a keynote speaker to address numerous publishing occasions such as BookExpo America, Asian Publishing Seminar, and International Conference on Books, as well as other events held in countries such as Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.
