Jiang Xiao-juan is the incumbent executive vice director of the Research Office of the State Council. She is responsible for the research into China's macroeconomy, foreign trade, education, science and technology, and public health. She obtained her Ph.D in economics from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in 1989.\n\nJiang's publications include dozens of monographs and more than 100 articles in various Chinese journals. She is the author of two English publications: China's Industrial Transition: Organizational Change, Efficiency Gains, and Growth Dynamics and FDI in China: Contributions to Growth, Restructuring, and Competitiveness in China in the 21st century. She has been awarded the Sun Ye-fang Prize for Economic Science, China's most important award in economics, thrice and the CASS Award for Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research twice.
