Chan Wai Meng is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya. She was called to the Malaysian\nBar, and was attached to the legal and secretarial department and loan documentation department of a financial institution before\njoining the academia in 1998. Presently, she teaches Company Law, Legal Aspects of Banking and Legal Environment of Business.\nDr Chan has published "Third Party Rights in Insurance Law in Malaysia", and co-authored "Understanding Company Secretarial\nPractices". She has received research funding from the University of Malaya, and has presented her findings in both local and\ninternational conferences, published the findings in among others, Australian Journal of Asian Law, Company Lawyer, Competition\nForum, Journal of Contemporary Asia, Journal of Malaysian and Comparative Law, Law Review, and Malayan Law Journal. She is also\nan examiner for the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) examination.
