Overview
This paper reflects on the meaning of Christian public theology and examines the achievements and problems of Sino-Christian public theology. It aims to provide a basic understanding of both the concept of public theology and the methodology of Sino-Christian public theology, so as to foster the studies of public theology for academia, church, and society in the Chinese-speaking world. It seeks further to contribute to the global debate on this subject from the Chinese traditional understanding of "the public", the tradition of public theology in China, and the specific context and issues in the Chinese context.
