THIS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE THROUGH GALE
Modern Language Association International Bibliography provides searchable access to bibliographic citations for journal articles, books, dissertations and scholarly websites. It indexes materials from 1926 to the present in academic disciplines such as English Language and Literature, linguistics, literary theory and criticism, folklore and the dramatic arts.
The Modern Language Association International Bibliography currently indexes more than 66,000 new items each year and covers literature from all over the world: African, Asian, Australian, European, North and South American works are all included. Entries include editorial contact information as well as frequency, circulation, subscription prices and submission guidelines.
Modern Language Association International Bibliography incorporates the MLA thesaurus or subject guide (a searchable listing of subject terms used in indexing materials). Researchers can use the ‘Subject Guide Search’ to obtain highly precise results, to discover related terms on which to search, and to develop ideas for refining or expanding research. The ‘Directory of Periodicals Search’ offers eleven different drop-down options for users to refine their search, including filters such as ‘actively indexed?’, ‘publishes abstracts?’ and ‘accepts advertising?’
Significantly, Gale's Modern Language Association International Bibliography:
- Includes the Modern Language Association's Directory of Periodicals which offers detailed information on more than 4,900 journals, with 6,800 currently indexed in the Bibliography.
- Will link to full-text content when it’s available at your institution.
